Day Five - The Baths and Chestnut Festival

Here we are at the Hot Baths resort. There are natural hot springs that furnish the hot water in these pools.

Here's a few shots of folks in the pool!

Where the waters were diverted in via "waterfalls" was prime turf. It was very refreshing to sit underneath and acted as a natural massage.

Denise is trying to relax!

Now for something a little different....the free public baths.

Here you can see the waters coming through natural gaps in the creek bed. These springs are also hot.

Grab some turf and enjoy. Next time we may provide a choice for the resort baths and the public baths.

One of the small towns and how laundry is handled.

This shows the old style of tiled roofs where the weight of the tiles and large stones in the edges keeps the roof in place. No cement.....no shingle and nail gun!

Here are truly "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire" at the Chestnut Dance.

This was equivalent to a traditional fall festival type dance where you placed your order and local children brought out your selections which were authentic local dishes and surprisingly good. Then it was dance time.
Here's two local Italian women cutting the rug.
Can't forget the band!
John tries out some of his vintage 70s dance steps.
Some of us hopped in and it looked a lot like Dancing with the Stars...one professional and one comic (I was the latter!).
Elena and Bill were smooth and talented!

A Good Time was had by all!
