Le Pianore Images

This is a collection of photos from a recent trip to Tuscany, with Vincenzo from Solomon's as our tour guide and Joann from Quality Street and Mary Kay as planners for this event. Needless to say this was a trip of a lifetime and we hope you enjoy the shots. Here is how we were greeted when we arrived at Le Pianore....Mimi on a picnic table.

This is Le Pianore and typical weather for what we experienced during our stay. Crisp blue skies, a beautiful rustic setting, and we were nestled in the midst of the Amiata mountains. This is the main building, built on a foundation from the 1100s.

This is the first building built on the premises, anticipated to be on a foundation from the 900s/1000s. It is now completely refurbished as sleeping quarters.

Although chilly for us the beginning of October, Le Pianore has a comfortable pool for lounging and cooling off in the spring/summer months.

This is the main building from a lower angle, and gives an accurate portrayal of what some of the paths and retaining walls are like.

This is what you drive up to!

Here is the view down into the valley. Le Pianore is 48 hectares. A hectare is 2.471 acres for those who need to be in the know. You can see the olive trees to the right and there is a fruit orchard to the left that is not showing.
Here's Lola..."She has many boyfriends" says Elena.

This is inside the home the Elena and guests Tom and Jean stayed at as well as Vincenzo.

Our morning visitors in the lower pasture.

Mimi trying to learn how to relax!

One of the many "outdoor rooms" that you find in the Tuscan area. "You need the energy from outdoors to live" according to Elena.

Checking out the local olives and their yield.

The day before we were leaving, the local lavender was being harvested and bundled into sachets to discourage moths when the winterized the property. The smell filled the meadow!
